The Battle Creek-based cereal maker said in response to a Change.org petition from customers 10 months ago and pleas on social media, it is bringing back SMORZ cereal. The cereal — which features chocolatey graham squares and marshmallows — is returning after a two-year hiatus. “Kellogg’s SMORZ cereal has an incredibly passionate fanbase — and their efforts to bring back the cereal have paid off,” said Erin Storm, senior marketing director of Kellogg All Family Cereal. “We couldn’t be happier to bring some joy to our die-hard fans and also give first-timers the chance to indulge in the fanfare and see what SMORZ is all about.”

With brands taking center stage during the big game’s popular ad breaks, the snack brand of Battle Creek-based Kellogg Company looks to build on previous years with a spot that will feature the consequences that occur when people get engrossed in Pringles flavor stacking combinations. Following 2020’s Rick and Morty partnership, Pringles saw double-digit growth for the brand. “We’re really happy that Pringles will be back in the big game in 2021,” said Gareth Maguire, senior director of marketing for Pringles. “We know that this coming year’s big game day experience will be different with more fans watching from home, (but) it will definitely be (a) huge TV and social media day for us to showcase the fun consumers can have creating Pringles flavor stacks.”

Inspired by the homemade treats crafted when families gather, Rice Krispies Treats HOMESTYLE are designed to be “like a hug you can taste” featuring extra marshmallows folded into every bite. They’re 50% bigger than the original treats, available in original and chocolate flavors, and individually wrapped with a writable wrapper.

Battle Creek-based Kellogg Company said it tapped two family-oriented brands to create two new flavors: Frosted Mini-Wheats Cinnamon Roll and Special K Blueberry. Both feature the same leading ingredient whole grains. With real cinnamon baked inside toasty layers of 100% whole grain frosted biscuit, Kellogg said Frosted Mini-Wheats Cinnamon Roll tastes like a fresh-from-the-bakery cinnamon roll. Made with real cinnamon and 47 grams of whole grains per serving, Frosted Mini-Wheats Cinnamon Roll is high in fiber and contains seven vitamins and minerals.

Battle Creek-based Kellogg Company is launching breakfast-inspired Kellogg’s Cereal Bars, a new way to partake of Kellogg’s Froot Loops and Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes while on the go and throughout the day. The bars are made with cereal pieces and are equal to a half-serving of cereal (by weight). “At Kellogg’s, we’re always looking to innovate and deliver new experiences that our fans desire, and we know breakfast isn’t the only time people munch on cereal,” said Sarah Reinecke, senior director, brand marketing. “Whether you’re a cereal-loving kid or just a kid at heart, Kellogg’s Cereal Bars offer a whole new way to enjoy Kellogg’s Froot Loops and Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes on the go, wherever your day takes you.”
