CANTON The Carpe Diem Coffee Shop intends to offer something a little stronger than coffee in the near future.
Owners Patrick and Cathy Wyatt are in the process of obtaining a liquor permit, allowing them to craft a signature drink like the Irish coffee served by Dead Rabbit, a bar in New York City. They re one of four businesses that have applied for the 15 liquor permits created with the city s downtown entertainment district last February. We don t want to become a full-fledged bar, with people coming in there and handing out all day, but we definitely want to enhance our coffee and anything that has a coffee theme with it, Patrick Wyatt said.
