Different kinds of problems that they might encounter. One of the things montana has done is to create a unified set of policies that make clear what the process is. And another thing that a lot of our consent decrees and agreements with schools provide for is engaging an expert consultant. There are people who know what works on campuses and who have had lots of experience in helping schools to structure policies in providing training materials and in conduct ng the training. And ensuring that they have an adviser who for whom this isnt the first time and who can provide that expertise is very important. Montana is also a grantee of the office of violence against women. And that grant comes along with Technical Assistance that can enable them to mount kind of holistic response on campus. Another thing that i think is quite important is Data Collection and reporting because a university can only get a sense of whether it has a problem by keeping track of the problems and the complaints
We announced these changes than the secretary of defense, general dempsey said it will result in better aligning our structures and resources with dod Strategic Interests and priorities. And earlier this year we directed the management review in that review developed options to help the dod plan for a range of future budget scenarios, including the persistence of sequester lover untracked level cuts. And as all of you know, these threats, and less changed, will represent a 500 billiondollar reduction over the next 10 years, and that is in addition with a 480 billion spending cut that the dod has are implemented. So the hours of service rule that was finalized in december of 2011, and as you note, went into full effect last july, is identified with rigorous analysis to project an impact of saving up to 19 lives per year, or at least 19 lives per year, and avoiding at least 500 injury crashes, and then significantly more crashes and overall net benefit to the nation. There was also clearly in the analysis a recognition of the Economic Impact on industry. A recognition and an an analysis that identified about 500 million Economic Impact, cost to injury industry. Some portion as a cost or Law Enforcement partners across the country. So your question is to the point of do we think that this happened yet, what do we think has happened yet.
