I think the reason why some of these have stuck around all the time, as youve said, theyre really politically intractable. But in some sense theres a reason for that, and maybe its not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, the other option is to have absolutely no regulation, right, at the extreme so that theres no conflict over what that regulation and anything goes. And if thats not what were trying to set up, a sort of superregulatory council that can sort of whackamole and bat down anything that is not the least trade restrictive model, thats where youre getting political pushback be. And thats the idea that, you know, citizens want to be able to have some say in what their economy looks like. And in some senses, you know, some citizens want greater Government Intervention in the economy. Cato would say less Government Intervention in the economy. But these are really, really important questions. And it really gets to, again, i think, marjories question when she said raise your hand if
What matters is what he says, not where he says it. So i hope that, you know, the Prime Minister will take account that this has been a partisan issue command it should not. I hope he reaches out in a way that is unmistakable to democrats and republicans alike, but emphasizing the nonpartisan nature of the relationship, and, and i think that i would expect this meeting actually will go well. The primethe Prime Minister has an interest, and also the president has an interest. Do i think that in the aftermath there will be the closest of friends . Do ii think that the chemistry will be perfect . No. I think they have different worldviews, but they recognize the points of convergence, the common needs right now, and both have an interest in elevating that at this point. You know, comes back to thinking about those things that bind us and particularly on the issue that divided us. One of the things that we used to always say, we knew our objectives were the same the tacticsthe tactics migh
Milligan in the virgin islands. Good morning. Caller yes, good morning. How are you . Fine, thank you. Go ahead. Caller i was sent away to prison from the time i was from the 12th grade to high school. And i was sent away for 20 years. So i came home in 2008 and ive been it was for crack cocaine. But someone like me are stuck there for over 17 years doing what . Nothing. I mean, it was just its really a good idea that the president is doing because there are many of us who is exactly as you said. Nonviolent, nonviolent. Were not violent. Yes, i understood what i did. I sold some drugs. But the time given is the problem, given me 20 years, i mean, for what . Ok. You said sentence works. But there was no violent in it. So really, it done me a disservice to be back there doing anything. And one of the most important things maybe i would have came back into society and wanted to sell drugs again but time gone. I heard a man was able to touch my life while being back there. So now that i ca
Some of them i really like, but who cares . I was talking to one of the candidates, talking about corporate inversions and they did not even know what i was talking about. Its not their thing. All the things with other countries and make great trade deals we are getting eaten alive. When you look at the phony numbers, we have wondered Million People in our workforce not working. In my view, what this is election is about is not just electing a president. Far, far more significantly, it is about transforming the United States of america. It is about understanding that there is something very, very wrong where the United States of america is the only major country on earth that does not guarantee paid family and medical leave. How does that happen . The only major country on earth that does not guarantee paid sick time or paid vacation time. How does that happen . The only major country on earth that does not guarantee health care for every man, woman, and child as a right. So, what this campaign is truly about is to bring people together by the tens of millions. And thats tough. That is tough stuff to do. But if we do that, were not just going to win this election. We are going to win it by a landslide. Because what happens is how many people in your communities believe that the republicans as the republicans do, that we should cut Social Security, cut medicare
