RPD grateful for donation covering K-9 s surgery cost
RICHMOND, Ind. Richmond Police Department K-9 Uzi recently was injured and required surgery.
The surgery s cost was ultimately covered by a $4,213.84 donation from the National Police Dog Foundation, a nonprofit that provides donations for active and retired police dogs round the country.
In a news release, RPD expressed its thanks for the foundation s donation. RPD applied for the medical assistance.
Uzi was injured in an off-duty incident and required surgery to his left rear leg. Uzi is a 4-year-old Belgian malinois that joined RPD in May 2019. His handler is Officer Jourdan Brouse.

In early January of 2021 special agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force (HCDTF) initiated an investigation into the fentanyl distribution operation of Joseff Gene Greek (34 years old from San Francisco). Greek is currently on Federal probation for firearms violations. Agents had developed probable cause to believe Greek was transporting large quantities of fentanyl from San Francisco to Humboldt County on a regular basis.

During the final weekend of January 2021 agents conducted surveillance on Greek as he travelled from San Francisco to Sacramento, then to Mendocino County, and eventually on Sunday morning January 31st , 2021 Greek entered Humboldt County and checked into a hotel room in the area of 4th St. and B St. in Eureka. HCDTF agents obtained a search warrant for Greek and his hotel room.

PERRY TWP. County Drug Task Force agents seized numerous suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia during a search of a Georgetown Road home Wednesday, with charges pending the outcome of lab results.
A woman at the residence, Bethany Devine, 29, whose last known address was Fair Avenue, was taken into custody on a felony warrant for complicity. A man was present, also, but no charges were filed at this time.
“We received numerous drug complaints about this house,” Sgt. Brett Grabman of the county Sheriff’s Office said.
Grabman was recently appointed as the new director of the DTF, taking the place of the former director now Sheriff Brian McLaughlin.
