Silver sees influx of residents – but not 6,320 households Written by Geoffrey Plant on May 4, 2021
Town Manager Alex Brown clarified Monday that a 396 percent increase in water and sewer “connections” over the past year doesn’t represent 6,320 new physical water or sewer connections, but rather reflects that many new water and sewer accounts combined.
Connections to the town’s water and sewer systems are counted separately by Silver City.
Since most people living within the town establish both water and sewer service, Brown said that a little more than 3,000 household accounts are probably represented by the increase. This fiscal year’s numbers show 5,045 more water and sewer service accounts than were established the previous fiscal year, when there were just 1,275 new ones.
