AN UPSET councillor has responded to claims he ignored a colleague s appeal for help in tackling a dangerous ice-covered path. Allerdale Borough Councillor Peter Little last week shared his concerns about a stream of water coating paths on Hillside Close, in Maryport, which had created a sheet of ice. Coun Little, who represents Maryport South ward on the council, said that despite contacting Cumbria County Council and Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) six weeks ago, nothing had been done. A spokesman for the county council said the issue lies with United Utilities, as it appears to be a burst pipe causing the issue.
Caring councillors took part in a vital campaign to support homeless veterans – by brightening key workers days. Allerdale Borough Councillors Peter Little, Iain Greeney, Adrian Kirkbride and Lynda Williams completed their task on Saturday (December 19), walking the streets of Maryport to raise funds for Walking with the Wounded s Walking Home for Christmas campaign. The charity supports all those who have served in the military with their mental health, employment, finding a home, and care coordination. And the team couldn t be more proud to support the cause, delivering hampers of biscuits, sweets and chocolates to the Dale’s, Granville Court, Parkside and Solway House residential homes.
