Cumbria County Councillor responds to claim he ignored residents' and colleague's appeal for help with ice

AN UPSET councillor has responded to claims he ignored a colleague's appeal for help in tackling a dangerous ice-covered path.
Allerdale Borough Councillor Peter Little last week shared his concerns about a stream of water coating paths on Hillside Close, in Maryport, which had created a sheet of ice.
Coun Little, who represents Maryport South ward on the council, said that despite contacting Cumbria County Council and Castles and Coasts Housing Association (CCHA) six weeks ago, nothing had been done.
A spokesman for the county council said the issue lies with United Utilities, as it appears to be a burst pipe causing the issue.
