Now after a few years, he’s found the right fit to come back.
And it’s right back in the Coulee Conference, only this time with West Salem. In 15 seasons at G-E-T, Wagner’s Red Hawks won 252 games and made trips to State in 2012 and 2016. After a few years away, he wanted to get back in the game.
“The thing I missed most was the kids, and the relationships you build with kids over time, the day-to-day interaction with them in trying to build something as a team,” Wagner said.

Holmen gymnastics is prepping for Saturday’s big McLellan Invitational featuring almost 10 teams in two separate day sessions.
Holmen comes off a fifth place finish at state last season but has a couple varsity spots up for grabs.
All the gymnasts will be masked up the whole time at tomorrow’s event. If masks come down during a routine the athletes are expected to try to pull it back up, but the Vikings are willing to take on that challenge.
While an unconventional start to a competitive season, Holmen head coach Katie Canar has already noticed a vibrant culture taking place since her athletes all got back to practice.
