Mavern House Nursing Home in Shaw was sold to Welford Healthcare. Brother and sister team, Jill James and John Pearson, previously owned the Corsham Road home for more than 13 years. The pair decided to sell to retire from the care sector and pursue alternative business ventures. Welford Healthcare owns several care homes. Spokesman Peter Madden said: “We are delighted to welcome Mavern into the group, and we look forward to learning from the special culture of this home.” This popular nursing home is situated in a prime location between Corsham and Melksham, and enjoys a pleasant setting within its own grounds away from the main road and the open countryside.
