generation. somewhere along the line, the economy has broken. i was in helena, montana, i was raised four blocks from here, back when i was a kid, 90% of 30-year-olds were doing better than their parents at age 30. today it s only half. 44% of americans wouldn t have 400 bucks in case of medical or a family emergency. so when the economy s not working for people, they look to the political system for relief. and it really is captured by the outside dollars and the corrupting influence of money. so i think that my secret sauce is actually by recognizing that things we all want are the same. and by going to places that not all democrats go. governor, i love that you re not ceding the economy to trump because it is two economies. the democrats across the field have to understand there s a lot of different ways to punch at that. speaking of pumpinching, you sa you re not going to out-trump trump, you re not going to do anything to embarrasses your kids or grandkids.

the places that we lost, we re never going to win in 2020. i have also been able to actually work with democrats and republicans to get progressive things done in a majority republican legislature, from health care for 100,000 monta montanans from freezing college tuition and banning dark money half an hour elections. and i think i ve been able to move in other places and to really address i think what is the original season now of the system. that s corrupting influence of outside dollars. and until we address that, it s going to be that much harder to address many of the other issues we re facing. so in montana and in the rest of the country, from your perspective, how are people going to react and what is your reaction? the president says he s not going to do infrastructure, he s not going to do bridges. a lot of projects that your state needs as well as the rest of the country, until they stop investigating. does he have the hearts and minds of a lot of his trump supporters and a
