DETROIT (FOX 2) - Detroit police suffered a major blow Thursday with the unexpected passing of corporal Darryl Cross. He died unexpectedly while off-duty Thursday.
More than 100 people gathered at the Detroit Police Department s 12th Precinct for a vigil in his memory Friday. The impact he had on the city and his fellow officers was undeniable.

Some employees were recognized during a Town of Weldon Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.
Adolphus âPeteâ Scottâs retirement begins Jan. 1, from his position of Collection System ORC/Distribution System Maintenance for the town. He has worked more than 14 years, according to the Resolution of Appreciation approved by the board.
âHis services and talents will be missed by the town,â Mayor Julia Meacham said.
âWe hope you have continued good health and you can enjoy your family and grandchildren,â she added. âAnd you can start coming to the meetings now.â
âIâve enjoyed working for the town,â Scott said. âI have met a lot of people I wouldnât have met, working with the town, and I appreciate that.â
