Town of Weldon recognizes staff

Some employees were recognized during a Town of Weldon Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.
Adolphus “Pete” Scott’s retirement begins Jan. 1, from his position of Collection System ORC/Distribution System Maintenance for the town. He has worked more than 14 years, according to the Resolution of Appreciation approved by the board.
“His services and talents will be missed by the town,” Mayor Julia Meacham said.
“We hope you have continued good health and you can enjoy your family and grandchildren,” she added. “And you can start coming to the meetings now.”
“I’ve enjoyed working for the town,” Scott said. “I have met a lot of people I wouldn’t have met, working with the town, and I appreciate that.”
