Vinod Khosla pledges funds to fight Covid in rural India

The cofounder of Sun Microsystems made the announcement at the virtual launch of the first unit of a 10-bed ICU project at Telanganas Narayanpet district hospital on Saturday. “These modern ICUs should not be limited to just 33 districts. It is a model that could be extended to all 700 Indian districts,” said Khosla, who now helms Khosla Ventures in California. “I am happy to fund 100 districts and I invite others to contribute to the remaining districts.”

They will be available round-the-clock, one in each of the eight zones of the corporation – Edappally, Palluruthy, Central zone, Palarivattom, Vyttila, Pachalam, and two zones in West Kochi.
