Good morning. Hows everyone . Good, good, good. All right. So last time we were talking about the postcivil war south. 1865 to 1900 and the postcivil war west, that same time frame. Todays topic is called the gilded age. Roughly again, postcivil war up to 1900. But this lecture is really about america becoming an Industrial Power industrialization is going to be the key to understanding whats going on in the postcivil war north. Okay, ill explain the title gilded age in a few minutes because it has roots here in our own state of missouri. But to talk about america becoming an Industrial Power, there are certain sets of conditions that we need for that process to occur. For example, if youre going to become an Industrial Power, you need to have an abundance of Mineral Resources. Coal. Iron ore. Copper, tin, zinc. All kinds of things such as that. And whats fortunate for the United States is that we are blessed with all of those materials in our own country. Weve got huge pockets of coal
