Landus And New Odebolt Manufacturer Partner To Bring Revenue Options To Area Farmer Owners

Last November, Corn Board Manufacturing Inc. announced their intentions to construct a 50,000+ square foot production facility just outside of Odebolt for corn stover-based wood alternative products. Construction is underway on the physical structure while relationships are being built to bring the needed raw materials from local farmers to the plant. CEO of Corn Board Manufacturing, Lane Segerstrom, says stover is very difficult to transport long distances, so it needs to be locally sourced. Sign up here to get the day’s top stories delivered straight to your inbox.   Based in Stratford, Texas, Corn Board Manufacturing is the company behind the aptly named CornBoard, a wood alternative made from corn stover, the remaining plant debris after corn is picked.  After harvesting a crop, the stalks, husks, and leaves are bailed and sent to a manufacturing facility that sifts, sorts, and combines the materials with a resin. The company then uses heat and pressure to make CornBoards.
