A Wisconsin packaging manufacturer says it has been selected to provide specialty products to protect vaccines for the novel coronavirus during shipment.
Dura-Fibre officials said the company provided laminated paperboard sleeves and inserts for some of the vaccines already moving throughout the U.S. Its products are part of a complex cold-chain system to maintain the cold temperatures needed to keep the shots viable throughout the distribution process.

Stiff, strong, and light, carbon-fiber was a game-changer when it was introduced. A common material for racing and sports cars, carbon-fiber’s properties are perfect for lightweight, aerodynamic machines.
However, there exist ecological issues with the material that bear remembering. For example, to manufacture the material, sheets of carbon are stacked together and combined with a plastic polymer resin to stick together. However, because this process is done by hand, imperfections are easily introduced that are subsequently scrapped during the trimming process. Recycling carbon-fiber isn’t like recycling metals; it can be done, but it must be done by a company that specializes in recycling composites.
