Eastpointe residents will have an opportunity to voice their opinions about a proposed lane conversion on Nine Mile Road that would reduce lanes from five to three; a public hearing is scheduled for Feb. 6, 7 p.m. during the regular Eastpointe City Council meeting.
After serving as Eastpointe’s interim police chief for the past six months, Corey Haines was sworn in as the permanent head of the city’s law enforcement department on Tuesday.
Approximately 1.5 miles of Nine Mile Road in Eastpointe will be reduced from five to three lanes after the City Council voted 3-2 at its Dec. 19 meeting to move forward with a redesign of the thoroughfare.
