A Coralville man faces a felony arson charge after police say he intentionally started a fire that sent one person to the hospital.
According to Coralville Police, 36-year-old Dustin Corey is accused of intentionally starting a fire last summer at 900 21st Avenue Place. Firefighters were called to the scene around 7:30pm on July 20th for a structure fire. The fire was contained to the apartment of origin and roof area of the building, but other attached units sustained smoke and water damage. One person was taken to the hospital for evaluation due to smoke inhalation.
A joint investigation by the Coralville Fire Department, Iowa State Fire Marshal Division and the Coralville Police Department determined the fire was likely arson and started in Apartment 908.

A 36-year-old Coralville man was arrested Monday in connection to a 2019 fire investigators now believe was set intentionally.
Dustin J. Corey, 36, faces charges of first-degree arson, a Class B felony. After his arrest on Monday he was transported to the Johnson County Jail to await his initial appearance.

Officials with the Coralville Police Department say minor injuries were sustained in a collision between an SUV and a train Tuesday afternoon on the city s west side.
At 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the scene of the incident, which occurred at the west loop of Westcor Drive and Highway 6/2nd Street, according to Lt. Deb Summers.
Two passengers of the SUV sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident, according to Coralville Fire Department Fire Chief Orey Schwitzer.
Summers says the extent of damage and the cause of the incident are under investigation.
