A Coralville man faces a felony arson charge after police say he intentionally started a fire that sent one person to the hospital.
According to Coralville Police, 36-year-old Dustin Corey is accused of intentionally starting a fire last summer at 900 21st Avenue Place. Firefighters were called to the scene around 7:30pm on July 20th for a structure fire. The fire was contained to the apartment of origin and roof area of the building, but other attached units sustained smoke and water damage. One person was taken to the hospital for evaluation due to smoke inhalation.
A joint investigation by the Coralville Fire Department, Iowa State Fire Marshal Division and the Coralville Police Department determined the fire was likely arson and started in Apartment 908.
