The New Zealand sharemarket stayed stubbornly flat but storm clouds surround marketer a2 Milk as it fell a further 5 per cent and more to a new low. The S&P/NZX 50 Index slipped 30.11 points or 0.24 per cent to 12,620.52, after trading in a narrow range of 12,592.77 to 12,693.15. There were 80 gainers and 58 decliners over the whole market on solid volume of 46.58 million share transactions worth $194.92 million.

NZX-listed hotelier Millennium & Copthorne Hotels New Zealand has filed for an interim injunction against the Waitangi National Trust Board over renewal of its Bay of Islands hotel ground lease.
It filed the documents in the Whangarei High Court earlier today in respect of the renewal of the lease for the land on which the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Bay of Islands is situated.
In a release to the NZX it didn’t say what aspect of the renewal was in dispute.
