India has issued mandatory quality norms for copper products, drums, and tin containers to curb sub-standard imports and boost domestic manufacturing. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has issued two separate notifications, stating that goods under these orders cannot be produced, sold, traded, imported, or stocked without the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) mark.
