The Twentynine Palms City Council meets tonight to review ongoing plans for Project Phoenix, as well as budget matters.
Project Phoenix includes plans for a community center that tentatively includes a kitchen/meeting room. The council will discuss plans to convert that space to a full commercial kitchen in partnership with Copper Mountain College and the Morongo Unified School District.
The council will also discuss their rejection of submitted bids for the construction of the Project Phoenix Monument sign to be located on the southeast corner of Yucca Avenue and Highway 62.
