Market recovers, VN-Index gains more than 31.6 points 15:13 | 29/01/2021 Market recovers, VN-Index gains more than 31.6 points The VN-Index, the benchmark on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), rose 3.09 per cent, equivalent to 31.64 points, to 1,055.58 points. The stock sell-off ended and the market breadth was returning to positive territory with 341 stocks increasing, while 114 stocks declined. The 30 large-cap tracker VN30-Index also climbed 3.68 per cent to end Friday morning s session at 1,047.93 points. Twenty-seven of the 30 large-cap basket increased, while only three stocks went down. Of the 30 largest stocks, FLC Faros Construction Joint Stock Company (ROS) was the only stock to hit the maximum daily loss. The share traded at VNĐ4,480 at the end of the morning session, down 6.86 per cent.

The trading day ended with 413 stocks declining, of which 64 stocks hit the maximum intra-day loss of 7 per cent. Another 51 stocks climbed, while 34 ended flat. According to a daily report from MB Securities SJC, the domestic stock market fell for second consecutive session on selling pressure to book profits. Without a leading stock group, the market fell from the morning session and just lightly recovered when stocks went down to supportive zones that attracted cash inflows for bottom purchasing.

Photo FLC Faros HÀ NỘI  Việt Nam s stock market rose on Friday as investors focused on banking and real estate sectors.  The VN-Index on the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange climbed by 0.57 per cent to end the week at 1,194.2 points. More than 783.1 million shares were traded on the southern market, worth nearly VNĐ18.7 trillion.  Overall market breadth was positive with 320 stocks climbing, of which 38 hit the intra-day limit growth of 7 per cent, while only 134 fell. Another 40 closed flat. Cash inflows increased with 14 out of 19 sectors climbing. The market breadth was in a positive status, while liquidity was not so different from the previous session. In our view, the VN-Index maybe still fluctuate around its historic peak next week, said BIDV Securities Co.
