THEN: Archbald was in the midst of plans to renovate three aging borough playgrounds when a tree toppled over from winter weather, crushing the playground equipment at a fourth park in December 2019.
NOW: Archbald has replaced the crushed equipment, in addition to equipment at two other playgrounds. The borough did not receive grant funding for its other planned playground overhaul, but officials applied for a new grant in 2020.
One year after a tree crushed a portion of Archbaldâs Rock Street playground, borough officials have replaced equipment there and at two other aging parks, with plans for additional renovations next year.
