States Push Back on Biden’s Agenda 04/03/2021 at 3:44 PM Posted by Kevin Edward White
New Bills on Conscience Rights, Women in Sports, and Abortion Restrictions
WASHINGTON Many states are pushing back strongly through legislation, in order to resist President Biden’s agenda regarding transgender policies, conscience rights and abortion.
As the Biden administration backs measures like the Equality Act, which would require health-care workers and organizations to perform gender transitions and abortion procedures in spite of conscience-based objections, some states have introduced conscience-rights legislation to protect those who object to such procedures.
And while Biden issued an executive order on his first day in office barring discrimination based on gender identity in school sports, many states are advancing legislation that would prevent women from having to compete against biological males.

To the Editor:
In response to “Opinion: Colton resident wonders what it takes to get Republican president impeached?” which appeared in the Feb 19–25 issue of North Country This Week: Ms Shumway stated only Democrats are impeached and that Trump was not impeached. She then lists
a bunch of debunked false charges against the duly elected President whom they hated even before his election.
Like our criminal justice system, someone is charged (impeached) by the state (House of Representatives) and
then faces a trial by the jury (Senate) and convicted or not. In the case of President Trump, he was impeached
It’s a bit of an irony that Joe Biden, who has resounding support from “reproductive rights” advocates is publicly calling for “unity” and that the theme for this year’s March For Life is “Together Strong: Life Unites!” Then again, the thing about ironies is they, too, can be ironic. There remains a unifying cause that both old-school liberals like Biden and pro-lifers can rally behind – safeguarding the conscience rights of Americans opposed to abortion.
President Biden, unlike other younger politicians, has never been identified with what one might call, with only a slight exaggeration, the cultural vandalism of progressives. The litmus test for whether Biden will protect his agenda from them, I would suggest, will be his attitude to conscience rights. It would be a disaster if Biden were arm-twisted into dismantling these protections.
discriminatory or bigoted and that s simply not the case. and laws should be in place to protect people s conscience rights. ted cruz has been very critical of his fellow republicans basically ripping them for caving in and even changing the law. do you think the law was okay in its original form? or do you think that both mike pence and asa hutchinson were right? asa just signed the bill today. i think the change they made was simply to conform it to the federal law. i voted for that federal law. i believe that s a fine law. i believe the original arkansas law frankly was fine. but, you know, either is fine. here s the interesting thing about either of these laws. none of those laws are going to protect this pizzeria if they don t under the current way courts are deciding this, the courts are actually not allowing for conscious protections for people who do not want to be involved in a same-sex wedding ceremony. they re not providing that. these laws simply create an opportunity f
exactly. very quickly, jordan, what would you have happen to this law as you try to get to the supreme court? we re trying to protect the conscience rights, engrand rights in our constitution. we ll get an opinion likely in june. there are other challenges to the provisions of the law. the law clearly said you wouldn t get any of the subsidies, thus you wouldn t be penalized. does the letter of the law stand? d.c. federal judge who will at least hear the argument come february. legal challenges are coming ahead. you had dr. ben carson on, a good friend of ours. i would like to have ben carson write the medical plan, health care plan for america and from the poor to the rich i think we would all be much better off. jordan sekulow, dr. nina radcliff, thank you. thank you, judge. the one and only ben stin is here to tell us why republicans
