To mark one year of working from home, we asked members of the Silicon Republic community to share some of the biggest lessons they’ve learned.
A whole year has gone by since the Government told employees across Ireland to work remotely to help minimise the spread of Covid-19. Now, as it looks like working from home could be here to stay, it’s important that we reflect on what we’ve learned over the past 12 months.
So, we asked some of the people in the Silicon Republic community – people leaders, directors, managers and more – for their thoughts.

Yenvy Pham pulled her first shot of espresso just a few months ago, but sheâs already mastered the barista art of cheerful competence and sensible black attire. She leans across a gleaming white counter to present a classic ca phe sua da, iced coffee with condensed milk. âVietnamese coffee will hit you in your effing face,â she says. âItâs punchy and mouth-coatingâlike MSG!â
After dropping points last minute to Derby County on Tuesday night, the Chairboys are back this afternoon and will be looking to right those wrongs against Millwall.
Ahead of the trip to South East London, Alicia Povey spoke to Omer of That Millwall Podcast to get the inside scoop on the Lions, who sit 11th in the Championship table.
Only the top four teams in the Championship have won more games than Millwall, and they seem to have built up some great momentum. Can you talk us through their recent form?
We’ve gone a tad under the radar in the last month; we’ve been the draw specialists of the season so far but we’ve found a way to turn those even games into three points. It kicked off at Huddersfield a month ago, changing to a new 5-3-2 setup and has stuck since. The last three games have been great for us, stringing together three important wins including a 4-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday, having been 1-0 early on.
