A trio of Houston Texans players are gaining professional experience this month through the NFLPA s 2021 Externship program.
Michael Thomas, Brennan Scarlett and Eric Murray are among the 52 NFL players gaining valuable experience at 24 top organizations across the country. Thomas will be working with NFL Players Inc., Murray with The Players Tribune and Scarlett with Target Accelerators. Externships run through the end of March and will be fully remote experiences due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We believe that this year s virtual Externship experience will provide our player members with a unique opportunity to broaden their knowledge, skillset and network in new, innovative ways that will serve them well during life after football, NFLPA Player Manager Connor Ford said.
CHICAGO (WLS) To celebrate Ash Wednesday 2021, churches got creative with cotton swabs, sprinkling and outdoor services to stay safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Usually ashes are applied by hand to the forehead, but this year at Holy Name Cathedral safety measures included hand sanitizer, face masks and no physical contact. Ashes today will not be imposed on the forehead as we usually do, said Bishop Robert Casey. Rather, they will be sprinkled upon the head of each person.
Sprinkling ashes is one of the method approved by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Stations were set up both inside the church and out throughout the day where people could receive ashes.
