against parliament in just a few hours. and in california, authorities have ordered evacuations as wildfires tear across the state, already struggling with power outages and droughts. life from cnn center, this is cnn newsroom with rosemarie church. thank you for joining us. cormack we begin with new details of the ice search of donald trump s mar-a-lago research. we know from court filings and that now famous picture that agents recovered classified and top-secret document. here s what the washington post is reporting. we learned that when the fbi conducted a search on august 8th, obviously, there are two court documents describing a lot of classified material that was taken. we are told that one of the things found in the course of that search was a document that described a foreign government military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities. obviously, that was a cause for some concern, although there is a lot of material in this trench of stuff that they search

officials. only the president and some members of his cabinet have access to them. let s bring in shawn turner, national security analyst and former director of communication for u.s. national intelligence. this reporting is quite interesting. what do you make of the idea that document like this was in a country club for 18 months? yeah, you know, when i saw this first of all, thanks for having me this morning. this really struck a chord with me, the fact that we now know that there were highly classified secret restricted access documents being stored at mar-a-lago, this is a game changer for our national security and risks to our national security. i ve been clear from the start that we need to avoid speculating about the intent with regard to these documents until we had more information about the substance of these documents. but now that we know that we re talking about nuclear defense capabilities for another country, this really raises the bar with regard to that i
which they moved money through and paid colfax and prosecutors said that bannon benefited and hi personal expenses were paid for out of the money for those donations. so it is not clear what specific conduct bannon will be charged with today or the specific state statutes so we have no idea what potential penalties bannon could face if he is convicted. bannon pleaded not guilty at the time to the federal charges. case never went to trial because as we all know he was pardoned by former president trump before trump left office. so we never got to see bannon in court and examine the evidence in this case and now we ll figure out what state prosecutors want to do here. bannon pleaded not guilty and issued a statement first to nbc news and our colleague kristen welker two days ago directly addressing this indictment that is expected today saying he ll essentially fight to the death and that he also raised
