NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell announced Wednesday that the city will move to a modified Phase 3 on Friday, March 12.
Cantrell said at a news conference that the city’s positivity rate is currently 1.5 percent and nearly 21 percent of Orleans Parish has received at least a first vaccine dose.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The City of New Orleans announced Wednesday that it will move back into a Modified Phase Two, easing some restrictions. These new restrictions will go into effect Friday, Jan. 29.
As of Jan. 27, the city’s percent positivity rate was below five percent.
On Friday, the city will allow indoor gatherings limited to 10 people and outdoors to 25 people with masks and following social distancing guidelines.
Restaurants and other businesses will be allowed to accommodate 50 percent capacity.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -The City of New Orleans held its weekly news conference Tuesday to update Coronavirus in Orleans Parish.
Due to COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations reaching a statewide record high, the City of New Orleans announced a Modified Phase One, with reduced capacity limits and gathering restrictions, which went into effect Jan. 8. and will last for three weeks.
There has been more than 23,000 positive cases of COVID-19 in Orleans Parish with 691 deaths.
The city is asking for volunteers help with vaccine efforts. Medical and non-medical volunteers are asked to sign up to work at vaccine sites in the coming weeks & months. You can sign up at ready.nola.gov/volunteer.
