You see the overton crossing there, thats 3rd street crossing over the freeway. This happened just before 3rd street, paul avenue exit. Northbound 101 is shut down for this very serious crash. I will let you know that traffic is going to be affected obviously on the peninsula. Northbound 101 is slowing down and people are getting off the freeway. The best way for you to get into San Francisco if youre coming from the peninsula is to use 380 and then 280 to get around doing this. Thats what i would do or not get on the freeway and use city streets and somehow get on the freeway after the closure which again is northbound 101 approaching 3rd stre
Incredibly sad scene that we see on northbound 101. You can see the far right lanes are blocked because of this terrible crash that happened just before 12 30 am. We understand the taxi driver was driving on northbound 101 with an active fair carrying two passengers when they were hit by a driver coming the wrong way on northbound 101. There is a volkswagen that was driving the wrong way, unclear why that woman was driving the wrong way but she crashed into the taxi and this is the result of this terrible accident. Everyone involved in the taxi and the volkswagen has died. There were four people in total. One woman in the volkswagen passed away. The taxi driver and his two passengers passed away as well. In the last 30 minutes we spoke with chp who tells us they are barely starting to investigate this accident and are not sure why this woman was driving the wrong way. We do not know.
