Incredibly sad scene that we see on northbound 101. You can see the far right lanes are blocked because of this terrible crash that happened just before 12 30 am. We understand the taxi driver was driving on northbound 101 with an active fair carrying two passengers when they were hit by a driver coming the wrong way on northbound 101. There is a volkswagen that was driving the wrong way, unclear why that woman was driving the wrong way but she crashed into the taxi and this is the result of this terrible accident. Everyone involved in the taxi and the volkswagen has died. There were four people in total. One woman in the volkswagen passed away. The taxi driver and his two passengers passed away as well. In the last 30 minutes we spoke with chp who tells us they are barely starting to investigate this accident and are not sure why this woman was driving the wrong way. We do not know. We did get multiple calls with multiple locations. One location was northbound 101 abby 280 split, so, its possible they couldve been traveling for quite some time. Reporter at this point the identities of everyone involved are still unclear or it not at least not being released. The woman who was driving the wrong way in the volkswagen was in her 30s. The taxicab driver was a man in his 60s and its unclear the identities are ages of the two other victims. Here is another live look of this accident. It has closed down two lanes are i should say three lanes of northbound 101. The far left lanes have just reopen in the last five minutes. We have another shot, another camera standing by to give you a better look as that traffic is coming through so you can see traffic slowly starting to make its way down northbound 101. This will no doubt cause some delays for the morning commute and come again, all four people have died. Police will be looking into whether drugs or alcohol play a factor and is also unclear where the cab driver was coming from. We have sloan on 580 westbound coming in from 205 which is typical. There have been no other problems on the stretch over to castro valley. 880 traffic looks good and if youre driving over to the toll plaza you will see a slight delay westbound coming into San Francisco. It involved a taxicab and another, and a wrongway driver. The taxicab carrying two passengers. The driver and the two passengers in that car, as you can see, were killed. You can see behind us how incredibly sad this scene is. This taxicab is up on the railing, on the shoulder lane and a volkswagen is also smashed. Incredible damage and very sad from what we see. We understand this started around 12 30 am. That volkswagen, a woman and that car was driving the wrong way on northbound highway 101 when she crashed into that taxi. That taxes had an active fare and was driving two passengers and unfortunately everyone involved in this accident has passed away. The driver of the taxi cab was a man in his 60s. The woman in the volkswagen who was driving the wrong way is a woman in her 30s. Its unclear, the passengers of the taxi, their identities or ages. We spoke a couple of minutes ago with a taxicab driver who came to the scene who tried to find out exactly what was going on. Two i dont know. Im feeling bad when i saw the taxi and it had two people on the floor. I said, oh, my god. I dropped my client often came back. I cant go home like this. I need to know who is the driver. Reporter that woman says she works for national taxi. She believes its the same company that this taxicab was involved in. The same company and she warned other drivers at the airport not to come this way. There was some luggage found on the scene so its possible those passengers in the taxi had just been picked up from the airport. Thats something were still looking into. You can see its going to be quite some time before these two right lanes are open. We are second and third lanes blocked by chp. You can see the two far left lanes have reopened in the last 30 minutes in traffic is slowly making its way through but its going to be a long commute. Breaking news from paris france where a deadly knife attack has left one Police Officer dead and this happened inside the paris police headquarters. That was around 1 pm paris time , across the street from the notre dame cathedral. Several Police Officers were hurt in that knife attack before the suspect was shot and killed. There are early reports of the attacker was a Police Department employee. This morning the military is investigating the cause of a nighttime parachuting exercise that injure 22. This happened last night at camp shelby military base in hattiesburg mississippi. The army said 89 paratroopers were on the plane for the exercise. The soldiers jumped out of the plane but were blown off course from their intended landing zone and into some pine trees. 15 soldiers were treated at the scene. Seven were taken to the hospital. Their injuries are not considered lifethreatening. Federal investigators are in connecticut looking into the crash of a retired world war ii plane.
