MCOP opens Health Hub at The Opportunity Center

MCOP opens Health Hub at The Opportunity Center The Orchard East Health Hub is opening at The Opportunity Center at ALCC as a project of Monroe County Opportunity Program, providing a site for a range of health and medical services. MCOP handles operations at the Opportunity Center, formerly known as the Arthur Lesow Community Center, 120 Eastchester St. MCOP said this effort fits in with its mission as a Community Action Agency to reduce the effects of poverty by empowering individuals, strengthening communities, and mobilizing resources. The Orchard East Health Hub is the first to be designated a Community Health Hub in Monroe County. Services will be available both for those with health insurance and those who do not have health insurance.

Habitat HOPE to host personal finance webinar February s Habitat HOPE webinar will be on the topic of Use Your Tax Returns to Reach Your Financial Goals. This is part of a series hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. The online webinar, led by Habitat HOPE counselor Jeanette McDonald, will begin at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23. To register, contact her at jmcdonald@habitatmonroemi.org or call 585-6701. Human Services Network meeting The Human Services Network of Monroe County will meet via Zoom video conference at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Members should watch their emails for log-in details. Announcements at the January meeting included that Monroe County Opportunity Program is taking appointments to help with income tax and homestead property tax credits. All individuals age 60 and older who are at or below 200% poverty level can receive those credits.
