The community Christmas Day meal has been running since the 1990s. Picture shows last year s event. Volunteers in the Ammanford and surrounding areas have made sure Covid-19 did not get in the way of people going without on Christmas day. Around 40 volunteers spread some joy by delivering meals to 70 people who might otherwise have been on their own on Christmas Day. All the dinners were prepared by staff at the Coopers Arms pub in Betws. Each person was also given a gift, mince pies and chocolates to wish them a very Merry Christmas. Organised annually by Ammanford Evangelical Church for the last three decades, the Community Christmas Day meal - held in previous years in Ammanford Pensioners hall and Llandybie Memorial hall - has provided food and friendship and has welcomed guests of all ages and backgrounds from the town and surrounding villages.
