Didnt have a problem doing it, but i would find it strange if there was any less disagreement over the how much one enjoyed having to do it or whether or not we should have done it . I would be surprised if there wasnt that disagreement in the military. One of the things i find odd right here is seems like no one is disagreeing with the principle. It was just how it was handled, how it was handled, you know, saying he was a hero, given the rose garden deal and all that. It doesnt seem line the principle is one correct me if im wrong. It sounds like the principle is one you agree with. Its the principle and the price we paid. I would argue well have to pay again to deal with these gentlemen in the future. And congressman, i think that it was a good price, and i think it was worth the risk to get Sergeant Bergdahl back home. Thank you, mr. Chairman. The chair recognizes the gentleman from florida, mr. Desantis. You said, well, maybe they thought beheading bergdahl would have been better,
The impact, hey, theyre back there calling the shots. Would that have a demoralizing impact on the unit . If you were still with that unit . Oh, no. American forces are going to do whatever they can every single day to do what theyre supposed to do. I dont think theyre really worried about anybody else. Okay. Mr. Walsh, in terms of permanent impact on policy, have we set a precedence by doing this in regards to all the other terrorists groups 1234. I believe we have, congressman. I believe weve set a dangerous precedent and id encourage this body to look at future efforts towards release and calls to close guantanamo. We had these gentleman detained. Men and women gave their lives to detain them. And now, unfortunately, i believe, men and women will give their lives to capture or kill them once again. Thank you. And i want to thank the panel. I yield back. The chair recognizes the gentleman from california, mr. Vargas, for five minutes. Mr. Chairman, thank you, again. Thank you for hol

A leader in the house on proisrael initiatives. Many of us know by going to israel, we certainly see, feel, touch what is going on, and congressman hoyer is one of those people who not only goes to israel repeatedly but takes members of congress with him. He understands the people and the land and the security today, ges israel faces yesterday, and tomorrow. It is our pleasure and honor for me to introduce congressman hoyer. [applause] good afternoon. It is a serious time in which we meet. When history will record that we had the resolve or we did not. Today, all of us are standing together

Susane just heard from rice, and soon you will hear from Kevin Mccarthy, the new representative who i think will be a great success. Owe a great of data to gratitude to the man that he will succeed, and that is eric cantor. [applause] term as, erics majority leader might be coming to an end, but he will always be a leader in terms of israel. People try to isolate israel, but we are here today to stand with israel, not as an observer but as a Strong Partner and a trusted ally. And what does that mean . Mean doing on one hand something and on the other hand having words and statements.
