And then six years in i was able to get on the Budget Committee, which is what i always wanted to be on because i learned i havent told the story when i ran for the state senate, i said there were two things we shouldnt do. We shouldnt raise our pay because i wanted the legislature to be parttime. The second thing is i wont vote for any tax increases. So republicans win the majority and they decide to raise taxes, and raise their pay. So i turned the pay down, which i came to learn later most people thought i was nuts.
