ELLSWORTH, Maine In a Commissioners Special Meeting Tuesday, the Hancock County Commissioners voted against a resolution to ask Sheriff Scott Kane to resign. Two voted against the resolution, and John Wombacher was the lone commissioner who asked for Kane s resignation.
Wombacher, Chairman William Clark, and Commissioner Paul Paradis all condemned Sheriff Kane s actions regarding a decision last June to end a contract with a local non-profit that was providing recovery services in the Hancock County Jail for nearly four years.
