ELLSWORTH, Maine — In a Commissioners Special Meeting Tuesday, the Hancock County Commissioners voted against a resolution to ask Sheriff Scott Kane to resign. Two voted against the resolution, and John Wombacher was the lone commissioner who asked for Kane's resignation.
Wombacher, Chairman William Clark, and Commissioner Paul Paradis all condemned Sheriff Kane's actions regarding a decision last June to end a contract with a local non-profit that was providing recovery services in the Hancock County Jail for nearly four years.
