Commissioners hear assessment concerns raised by property owner

The Daily Jeffersonian Guernsey County commissioners met with representatives from other county agencies to discuss assessment concerns raised by the owner of property on Clay Pike Road. The assessments were levied in 2006 in connection with a waterline construction project completed by the county. The property owner does not believe she should have to pay the assessments because some of the property was sold, said Commissioner Jack Marlin. But, the property owner is required to pay the assessment connected with their parcel. According to county officials, the initial 20-year assessment in question was divided into seven assessments when the property was transferred from the previous owner to his son and daughter-in-law.

Nicollet County OKs separation agreement | News, Sports, Jobs

fbusch@nujournal.com ST. PETER Nicollet County commissioners unanimously approved a separation agreement with human resources director/assistant county administrator Jamie Haefner Tuesday. Action came without discussion on a motion by Commissioner Marie Dranttel, seconded by Commissioner Jack Kolars. On April 2, commissioners accepted Haefner’s resignation. Under the agreement, in exchange for the release of claims, the County shall pay Haefner her regular salary at her final rate of pay, dental, and health insurance contributions through June 25, beginning the pay period after her right to rescind her release of all claims expires. Haefner is deemed to have elected COBRA coverage effective April 2. No additional leave benefits shall accrue following her March 25 resignation date.
