Union County, NJ – The Union County Board of Commissioners encourages all Union County residents ages 12 and up to get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible. In order to improve access for people who work during the week, the County will hold a free countywide vaccine clinic by appointment on Saturday, May 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Plainfield High School, located at 950 Park Avenue in Plainfield.
Any Union County resident ages 12 and up can use the Plainfield High School Clinic. To make an appointment, visit ucnj.org/vax or call 908-613-7VAX.
Subscribe Pandemic restrictions are on the way out, but the risk of infection remains for those who are not vaccinated, said Union County Board of Commissioners Chairman Alexander Mirabella. With programs like the Saturday clinic, we aim to ensure that everyone ages 12 and up in our community has quick, convenient access to the vaccine.

Today will be marked as a turning point in our ongoing battle against COVID-19. With the CDC releasing new recommendations stating that fully vaccinated Americans can forgo mask wearing in most indoor and outdoor settings, we may finally be turning a corner and getting back to a place we recognized in early 2020.

The Board of County Commissioners invites residents to the annual Union County Portuguese Flag raising ceremony in commemoration of the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Communities. The event will take place on Thursday, June 10 at 4:00 p.m. in front of the Union County Court House, located at 2 Broad Street in Elizabeth. The event is free for all to attend.
The event is being co-sponsored by the Portuguese American Leadership Council of the United States (PALCUS). PALCUS is a national non-profit based in the Washington D.C. area with a defined mission to be the national voice that advocates for and promotes the advancement of the Portuguese-American community economically, professionally, culturally and politically.

Senator Michael Doherty (R) and Assemblyman Jon Bramnick (R)are among those at the Jersey Shore and beyond voicing concern and opposition to the Marijuana reform law which cuts off communication between police and parents on a juveniles first offense and criminalizes police officers.

“Handcuffing law enforcement from notifying parents if they find a child using drugs or alcohol is irresponsible and dangerous,”
