Pocos dudaban de que este domingo era el día en el que Novak Djokovic igualaría las leyendas de Roger Federer y Rafael Nadal y, si quedaba alguna incertidumbre, el serbio, con todos los argumentos ya a favor de ser el mejor de la historia, desarmó al aguerrido y luchador Matteo Berrettini (6-7 (4), 6-4, 6-4 y 6-3) y sumó su sexto Wimbledon, elevando su marca de títulos del Grand Slam hasta los veinte.
Berrettini necesitó salvar una pelota de set y un juego de diez minutos de duración para darse cuenta de dónde estaba. Neutralizó la ventaja serbia y peleó hasta el final un set que era clave.
