Authorities identify husband and wife killed in Poplar Street shooting By Dispatch Staff Report • 17 hours ago Authorities have identified the couple killed in a shooting on Poplar Street Wednesday night. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant said Willie Lee Hull, 43, and Tasha Hull, 41, were both killed what Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton called a domestic dispute. The couple were married, but not living together, when the shooting occurred at Tasha Hull’s home, Merchant said. Shelton said Willie Lee Hull shot Tasha Hull and their adult daughter, who is in critical condition at a hospital in another county. Willie Lee Hull also died from injuries obtained in the shooting, though Shelton said investigators do not know for sure whether he shot himself. He confirmed investigators found a weapon at the scene.

Parents dead, adult child hurt in domestic shooting Two people have died and their adult child was flown to an out-of-area hospital in what authorities described as a domestic shooting in southeast Columbus Wednesday night. Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant identified the victims as Willie Lee Hull, 43, and Tasha Hull, 41. He said the couple were married but were not living together at the time of the shooting. The shooting occurred outside a home on Poplar Street, where Merchant said Tasha Hull was living, at about 9 p.m., Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton said. Investigators believe there was an argument, and Willie Lee Hull shot Tasha Hull and their daughter. When asked if Willie Lee Hull shot himself, Shelton said investigators don’t know for sure.
