Kamloops residents attended rallies to show their support for Ukraine on Saturday. Many amongst the crowd have family and friends back in their homeland and continue to have sleepless nights as they check in constantly with loved ones living amidst a war zone.
February 14, 2021 - 9:49 AM While responding to a shots fired complaint at a Kamloops motel Feb. 13, Mounties found themselves at the start of a homicide investigation. Kamloops RCMP responded to the shots fired call at the Howard Johnson Motel in the 500 block of Columbia Street Saturday night and, in one of the units, the man who they ve yet to identify was found dead. Based on the preliminary investigation this event appears to be targeted and related to the illicit drug trade, RCMP said in a press release. The Serious Crime Unit has taken over this case, and along with members in Frontline Policing they continue to collect evidence and information during these early stages of the investigation. There is currently no one in custody in relation to this shooting.
