different reports unfortunately, and no one is really going to he s implying no one is going to know what to believe. is he right? you ll need to talk to tom about that. what i believe is by thursday i hope the democrats will fold in whatever it is they want to put in the report, the report we re drafting at this point in time, and we ll have that one report. i think the issues is with respect to what the russians did cyber-wise, social media-wise, they ll agree with. what our system needs to do to protect itself in the 18 election, certainly the 2020 election, that the democrats will agree with that. they ll disagree with us on whether or not he found evidence of collusion. they can have that section written in there differently. we ll have one report that will answer much of the questions we wanted to. the collusion issue, we found no evidence of it. the democrats think they have. they ve not shared that with us, if they have. i ve shared all my evidence we ve got with them. if
investigative team and the people that provided the documents. also remember, the biggest power that mueller has in the criminal investigation is the federal grand jury subpoena power. without that grand jury to get those subpoenas out there, he doesn t have as much power as he would like to have. he has to capitalize on that now, to be clear it lays out exactly what they want and when they want it. if they fail to provide it, you could have more avenues for obstruction. now, another big issue here is we don t know exactly what the special counsel is looking for here. it s possible that this has to do with the collusion issue in which case maybe it is a mopup thing at the end here. they re dotting their is and crossing their ts. however, it s also possible that the special counsel is digging into financial issues, digging into some of the money involved in the trump organization and possible deals that may or may not have taken place, or even just sought by the trump organization. if
you re looking at a particular person. and when you re looking at him, somebody tells you, oh, here s a completely separate crime that he committed three or four years ago. the second example would be something that you can tie more directly or that you think may tie directly to the core items you re looking at. you would say, look, rod, we want to look at this because clearly this could be a crime, and it may lead us to something. an example would be if you had information and i m just taking this out of thin air if there was information developed about some potential blackmail the russian government might have on president trump and you find it during your investigation. that may be something you want to look at because it may relate to the collusion issue. it may relate to the election aid, if any, that the russians gave to trump s people. what impact does it have inside a sensitive investigation like this where the president of the united states is among those involved? when
or so. we have heard from president trump a little bit today on twitter. what are we hearing? he sort of set the backdrop and the tone to today. well, kristen, the president s been relatively quiet on twitter the past few days. that ended this morning. a flurry of tweets from the president coinciding with the 7:00 a.m. hour when fox and friends had a segment, maybe even the whole hour, on the collusion issue. how do we know this? because the president said he was watching fox and friends quoting two of the people he was listening to there, saying that he agreed with them, that there was no collusion with russia, culminating in his final twitter, no verbs, just the words witch hunt. we do have some new polling out from usa today and it shows the public appears to be at least according to usa today, siding more with mueller on the trustworthy side of things. 58% trust robert mueller. and 57 have little or no trust
