Like this and burglaries, the Fremont Police department is asking the city to spend 300,000 to install cameras and license plate readers cross the city. They would be installed at several intersections and near the citys borders. Records show 85 of burglars caught and convicted in fremont were from other cities. Its a great deterrent to crime. It tells people that we care about our community. And if youre going to come into our town and commit an offense that were fully committed to investigating that crime. Reporter but some question whether these proposed surveillance cameras might be going too far. I dont know how much you can do that can solve the problem.
