We continue to see this increase of this rate, hospitals are going to reach Maximum Capacity in three weeks. Reporter in neighboring San Mateo County, the numbers are better, remained in red tier with no curfew. Thats where some people are getting confused. This is the spot where San Mateo County ends and Santa Clara County begins so, in other words, curfew no curfew. I think its kind of stupid, one has it, the other one should too. Back to the coronavirus pandemic, some counties are seeing sharp rises in the number of hospitalizations. If rates continue to climb hospitals could exceed capacity. This week california recorded its highest number of cases since the start of the pandemic. They reported 15,000 new cases on saturday. That is the first time that many people have been hospitalized since mid august. Smith is here now after talking with healthcare workers about the new numbers. Reporter the resounding message is hospitals are able to treat patients now but if cases continue to rise at the same rate, hospitals will become overwhelmed.
