A 30-year-old man is set to appear in the Theunissen magistrate's court on Tuesday after he was linked to a murder that allegedly occurred on a farm at the weekend.

A truck driver burnt to death when his vehicle caught fire after it was pelted with stones by protesters in Harrismith, Free State.
According to the police, a witness saw a person who was with a group of protesters throwing stones at the driver’s truck on Wednesday evening.
“Apparently as a result thereof, the driver of the truck lost control and drove into the veld where the truck hit an embankment and caught fire,” said police spokesperson Col Thandi Mbambo.
She said when police arrived at the scene, they found the truck burning. They could not see the driver until the fire had subsided.

The body of a former police administration clerk was discovered buried at her home in Bronville in the Free State a day after she was reporting missing by her brother. Police visited the home of Siziwe Gladile on Wednesday night where they made the gruesome discovery, said Col Thandi Mbombo.
“On arrival, they noticed that the window panes were broken and there were blood stains on the ground next to the house leading to the shack at the back,” said Mbombo.

Two men aged 55 and 50 will appear in the Bloemfontein magistrate s court on Monday on a charge of contravention of counterfeit goods act.
On Saturday, highway police officers spotted a white panel van on the N6 Reddersburg road near the University of Free State farm. They stopped the vehicle and during a search found 70 boxes of counterfeit Sevilles cigarettes with an estimated street value of R700,000, said Free State police spokesperson Col Thandi Mbambo.
