from fire and fury, i m going to destroy north korea to i m going to sit down and cut the greatest deal in the world. if you re in japan your head is it s not whip sawing, it s simply circling around. it s just impossible to follow the examples you gave are equally germane. we have got to get more coherency to our policy to put alongside our immense capacity. i m afraid we re out of time because i know you wanted to address the questionnaire in this stormy daniels story but we ll have to save that for next time. thanks so much. still ahead, more on the backlash over hud secretary ben carson s expensive office furniture. he s found an uncomfortable place to lay the blame. my god. plus, former cia director john brennan joins our table when we come back in just a moment.
that most of the time i think we can still say that it s pretty clear here and i think we re looking at. yeah but i think they i mean you know that they they say they have to babysit him basically and make sure that he doesn t and he do anything really supposed to but so i wonder is it a trump coherency or is it actually of the sort of the knowledge of people who have been around for a long time in foreign policy and who know how the game is played and you know they they might more or less listen to him a little bit and what he wants but at the same time they have pretty much do what has always been done with maybe a little shift to it s in europe yes but all in all i would say if it was his policy it would be core haven t at all i think it s just they just keep it from from totally ballooning out of control and what about germany the what about germany s transatlantic policy i mean need to do american saying the times when we can fully rely on others are in some measure overs purely r
intrigue in washington is what it means for a coherency foreign policy moving forward. i think people who are watching and keeping track of government, what they have to understand is it s not just the soap opera aspects of it. it is how does the government, or in this case a national security team, actually work within itself. it is critically important. you have seen when that process breaks down. this is not bureaucracy. this is a very important process and does it break down because of failure to agree, failure to work through problems in a productive way to lead to better policy outcomes. that s what s a danger here. does it break down when every single day we are hearing there is not competence in a way supposed to be leading. whether it s from internal reporting in terms of how career diplomats are feeling but when the president is floating this out there. that is the crass part that david is talking about.

that common ground that we as catholics stand on is found around the eucharistic table, the altar. as we approach that table to share and the one body and one blood of christ, that is our common ground. that s what unites us. we are invited to follow him and if i dealt with coherency and we do it by bringing our own particular gifts and intentions. there s no conflict between a catholic that wants to advocate on behalf of the poor. there s no conflict between the social justice catholic or a pro-life catholic. we re the same church, the same gospel that we re witnessing to. you do have a growing division about those who want to emphasize certain rules an a pope who is emphasizing a certain rationality to mercy and lo of. let me ask you something, in terms of being in miami, what s
