A sewage spill in Coffs Harbour has forced the closure of Coffs Creek and the southern end of Park Beach to swimming and fishing.
Despite the ban today’s warm sunny weather in the city drew hundreds of people to the venues where the water was too irresistible.
The sewerage main has been repaired but authorities say it will take some time before water quality returns to safe levels.
The swimming and fishing ban is in place until further notice.
