Subscriber only How can we make Coffs waterways better? That s just one of the questions council is asking locals as part of a new study. The scoping study is Stage 1 of a new State Government-funded Coastal Management Program, which focuses on Moonee Creek, Coffs Creek and Boambee/Newports Creek Estuaries. Coffs Harbour City Council is working with specialist coastal management consultants on the study, looking at water health issues such as bank erosion, water quality, catchment and sediment flows, as well as recreational amenity. The new program aims to strike a balance between the protection of the estuaries, and the needs of the community.
